Is it permissible to exchange 100 kilograms of peanuts for 100 kilograms of dates that have not yet been harvested?

It is not permissible to sell peanuts for dates with the deferred delivery of one of the substitutes, because they are two usurious categories ( أصناف ربوية ) whose common underlying cause ( علتهما ) is taste, according to the Shafi’is and Hanbalis, or taste, measure, and weight according to the old opinion of Imam Shafi’i, or edibility and storability according to the Malikis. It was stated in the Hadith: "If these categories differ, then sell however you wish, provided it is hand to hand."
