Is my decision to withdraw from master's studies in "Renewable Energy" or Education, and devote myself to seeking Islamic knowledge, correct, despite my family's opposition and the anticipated backlash?

The desire to study Islamic sciences is a good thing, and it is possible to combine it with the study of worldly sciences to fulfill your parents' wishes.

If a Sharia university free from intermingling is available, join it. If not, studying in a mixed university is permissible out of necessity, with its [Sharia-compliant] controls.

Try to achieve your parents' satisfaction in matters that do not involve disobedience [to Allah]. If you fear fitna (temptation/strife) from mixed-gender study, try to convince your father to abandon it. If he is not convinced, then there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. Strive to earn his satisfaction thereafter.
