If a Sharia university free from intermingling is available, join it. If not, studying in a mixed university is permissible out of necessity, with its [Sharia-compliant] controls.
Try to achieve your parents' satisfaction in matters that do not involve disobedience [to Allah]. If you fear fitna (temptation/strife) from mixed-gender study, try to convince your father to abandon it. If he is not convinced, then there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. Strive to earn his satisfaction thereafter.
