Did Allah manifest His glory to the mountain and cause it to crumble when Moses (peace be upon him) made his request, or was the promise made at Mount Tur, which did not crumble?

There is no contradiction between the sacred texts regarding the appointment of Musa (Moses) at the mountain and its pulverization, for the sacred texts mention the pulverization of the mountain. The contradiction arises between the texts and the words of people who claim the mountain remains to this day. Scholars have differed in identifying the mountain; some say it is Mount Tur, and others say it is Mount Zubair. What is certain from the Quran is that the mountain was pulverized, becoming level with the ground. If the pulverized mountain is unspecified or was "Zubair," then there is no contradiction. However, if it was Mount Sinai, and it exists now, then either Allah restored it after its pulverization, or people are mistaken in their assertion of its continued existence. What is most important is what is stated in the infallible texts regarding the pulverization of the mountain and the occurrence of the appointment.
