Is the wife considered sinful for requesting a private dwelling or an independent space that preserves her dignity and privacy within the large marital home, especially after prior promises from the husband to provide independent accommodation, and after suffering from a lack of privacy and repeated insults from the husband's children in their shared home, given that she waited for her husband for six years before joining him?

A wife has the right to an independent dwelling exclusively for her, and the husband must provide it, even if it is an independent part of a large dwelling. If his children are harming the wife, the husband must prevent them from doing so, because the wife is a trust with him. Divorce has devastating effects, especially with children present, so one must deliberate carefully, strive for understanding, and preserve the family as much as possible, even by overlooking some rights. If reconciliation is not achieved, then separation may be better, for Allah will enrich each from the abundance of His grace.
