Must I repeat past prayers, the number or days of which I do not recall, given that I do not remember how my prayers were after my interruption from obsessive thoughts and their subsequent return?

The answer

We have often warned against obsessive thoughts (waswas) and succumbing to them, due to the distress and corruption they cause in a person's religious and worldly life. The one afflicted by obsessive thoughts must ignore them until Allah Almighty grants them healing. When these thoughts dissipate, their ruling reverts to that of a person not afflicted by them. There is no need to make up prayers about which one had doubts after completing them, because doubt after finishing an act of worship is not to be heeded, and this is even more applicable to someone afflicted by obsessive thoughts.
