Is the suitor considered unjust to his fiancée if the engagement took place under circumstances he did not desire, and he felt uneasy throughout the engagement period, and their relationship witnessed repeated disputes, and he experienced strange visions (a body without a head, or a head without a neck) when looking at her?

The engagement is merely a promise that either party may revoke at any time. However, it should not be revoked without a legitimate Shar'i reason. The suitor is a stranger to the woman he is engaged to, so it is not permissible to converse with her or to be in seclusion with her except out of necessity. Repentance is obligatory for any negligence in this regard. It is not permissible for parents to compel their child to marry someone they do not desire. As for seeing the fiancée disfigured, this might be an illusion from Satan. It is advised to marry a woman of religious commitment and good character, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The world is an enjoyment, and the best enjoyment of the world is a righteous woman."
