Do the existence of the Antichrist (Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal) and Gog and Magog (Ya'juj and Ma'juj) – as mentioned in the hadiths – contradict modern scientific discoveries, and is it possible that these narrations are from the Israʼiliyyat?

A distinction must be made between the rationally impossible and the rationally inconceivable. Islamic law (Shari'ah) and religious sciences fall within the realm of the rationally obligatory or possible, while the rationally impossible does not apply to them. The Shari'ah demands that a Muslim ponder the difference between the two. The existence of Al-Jassasah and Gog and Magog is not rationally impossible, but rather rationally inconceivable.

Modern science does not negate what it lacks proof to negate. Many people rush to deny things whose non-existence has not been proven, and this is not what modern science does. Philosophers emphasize the limitations of the intellect; the human mind has boundaries and cannot comprehend everything.

Furthermore, dismissing the existence of Al-Jassasah and the Dajjal in a cave, or Gog and Magog behind harsh mountainous terrain, is unfounded. The world is still discovering regions, creatures, and tribes that were previously unknown.

It may be that Allah Almighty has veiled from us the sight of some of His great signs and unseen creatures out of His wisdom. Belief in them remains a part of belief in the unseen, for not knowing something does not mean negating its existence.
