How sound is the sacred Hadith (Hadith Qudsi): "Whoever answers Me when I call upon him, I will answer him when he calls upon Me"?

The aforementioned Hadith in the question has not been found in the books of Sunnah, neither with a sound nor a weak chain of transmission, thus it has no origin. Allah the Almighty has linked the answering of supplication to responding to Him and believing in Him in the Quran, as in His saying: (And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then surely I am nigh; I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he calls on Me, so let them respond to Me and believe in Me, that they may be guided aright). The answering of supplication occurs either by hastening the request, or averting harm, or storing the reward for the Day of Judgment, while taking the means for acceptance and avoiding its impediments.
