Is it permissible for someone about to get married to read books about sexual intercourse with one's wife that are devoid of pictures?

It is warned against reading books that teach how to have intercourse for several reasons:

1. They may arouse lust, and you may not find a lawful outlet for it. 2. They often teach abnormal positions, some of which are contrary to natural disposition (fitra), and some to Islamic law (Sharia). 3. They may cause a man to lose interest in his wife if she does not perform these acts well. 4. Reading them may lead to seeking more of them and falling into forbidden (haram) acts according to Sharia. 5. They encourage their purchase and help in their promotion. 6. They may fall into the hands of those who would be incited to commit forbidden acts.

It should be known that intercourse is not complicated and is known by natural disposition, so there is no need for these books. The lawful and permissible way of intercourse can be learned from reliable sources that observe the Sharia rulings and sound natural disposition.
