Is the statement by Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him: "Beware of meat, for it has an addictiveness like the addictiveness of wine," authentic, and is chicken egg considered meat?

It has been reported that he, may Allah be pleased with him, advised against eating eggs for an economic reason: that a single egg is a small mouthful that does not satiate, and if it were preserved until it became a chicken, it would be more beneficial.
