Is it permissible to name a newborn Adam?

There is no Sharia impediment to naming a newborn Adam or any other name of the prophets. In fact, doing so is from the Sunnah and part of beautifying names, which is Islamically encouraged. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Name yourselves with the names of the prophets, and the most beloved names to Allah Almighty are Abdullah and Abdur-Rahman."
