What is the ruling of Islamic law on abortion due to the mother taking medications that may cause fetal deformities, based on the advice of doctors? And do the parents have to fast? And is there a blood money (Diyya), and what is its amount in Tunisian Dinars?

Abortion is forbidden by Islamic law because it is an assault on a soul without right. The doctor's informing of fetal anomaly is not a permissible excuse for it, unless the fetus's continued presence poses a danger to the mother's life, and this is confirmed by a report from trustworthy doctors; in that case, abortion is permitted.

If the fetus has not reached forty days, there is no blood money (diyah) for it, nor expiation (kaffarah). However, if it is after forty days and its creation is evident, then aborting it incurs a gharrāh, which is one-tenth of the mother's blood money. This gharrāh is binding on the mother if she is the one who caused the abortion, and likewise on the father or anyone else who shared in the sin. They are also required to offer expiation by freeing a slave or fasting for two consecutive months.
