What is the ruling on listening to music, and is listening to it at the time of prayer punished by cutting off sustenance, and what are the evidences for that from the Sunnah?

The prohibition of singing increases if it diverts one from prayer and the path of Allah, based on the Almighty's saying: "And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment." There is no specific evidence linking singing to deprivation of sustenance, but sins and transgressions may deprive a person of sustenance, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, a man may be deprived of sustenance due to a sin he commits."
