Is it permissible for me to break my fast in Ramadan because I work as a bus driver?

Fasting Ramadan is obligatory upon every sane, adult, resident, healthy Muslim. Breaking the fast is permissible for the sick and the traveler, based on Allah’s saying: (But whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] then [he must make up] an equal number of other days). So, if your work involves travel that reaches the distance of qasr (shortening prayers), you are permitted to break your fast and make it up later. However, if your work is within the city, then fasting is obligatory, unless you experience extreme hardship. In that case, you may break your fast with what alleviates the hardship, then refrain from eating and drinking for the rest of the day, and make it up later. If combining fasting and work is not possible, then you must search for another job or take a leave, because fasting Ramadan is a great pillar [of Islam]. If you cannot find a solution, fast until you feel hardship, then consume what alleviates it, then refrain [from eating and drinking] and make it up on other days.
