Is it permissible to intervene to alleviate a munkar (evil/wrongdoing) that cannot be entirely removed, or must it be removed entirely or left without intervention?

One must remove evil completely to the best of their ability. If that is not possible, then one must alleviate it, for what is attainable is not forfeited by what is unattainable. The one who enjoins good and forbids evil does not suffice with alleviation if they are able to remove the evil completely. Religious texts have indicated the removal of evils such as idols, mosques of harm, and places of disobedience. If the one enjoining good is unable to remove it completely, they should strive to alleviate it as much as possible.
