What is the legal ruling regarding the income of a female employee working in a company that trades in permissible medical equipment, knowing that the company deals with interest-based loans to meet its liquidity needs and purchase goods, and knowing that the employee's income is fixed as a monthly salary plus a percentage of the profits?

The question includes two matters:

1. The percentage of profit paid at the end of the year: If it is part of the wage, then it invalidates the contract due to the uncertainty of the wage. The wage must be known in an 'ijarah (contract of hire), because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade hiring a worker until his wage is made clear to him. This is the view of the majority of scholars. Some scholars (and a narration from Ahmad) permitted this. If it is not part of the agreed wage, but rather a bonus, then there is no harm in taking it. In the first scenario, the contract must be renewed, and the salary specified to be known. What has passed can be overlooked, taking into consideration the view that permits it.

2. The company taking out interest-based loans: This does not affect your salary as long as your work is permissible, for the forbidden relates to the liabilities of those who took the interest-based loans, not to the actual money itself. They must repent to Allah.
