Is it permissible to recite the Mu'awwidhat (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas) and verses from the Quran over creams, oils, and the like, and then bring them into the bathroom or wash with them inside it? And is it permissible to recite the Mu'awwidhat over food and drink?
It is permissible to enter the lavatory and to bathe in the bathroom after anointing oneself with oil over which some Qur’an has been recited, and the same applies to creams and foods. Similarly, it is permissible to anoint the body with olive oil over which the Qur’an has been recited and then enter the bathroom. However, it is preferable to bathe in a container, and then pour the bathwater in a clean place out of respect for the Qur’an. As for reciting over oils and foods, there is no legal impediment to it. Regarding entering the bathroom with oil to anoint oneself with it, it is better to anoint oneself in the bedroom. It is permissible in the bathroom if one is sure that the oil will not fall onto impure substances.
