How is the love of and attachment to this worldly life to be removed from the heart?

Allah has condemned the worldly life and encouraged renunciation of it, clarifying that being content with it and relying upon it is not the path of the successful. Allah Almighty says: "So turn away from whoever turns away from Our remembrance and desires not except the worldly life." (An-Najm: 29). However, the condemnation of worldly life is not absolute. Rather, it is condemned for what it leads to of disobedience to Allah the Almighty; otherwise, it is the bridge to the Hereafter and the means to attain eternal happiness therein.
