What is the ruling on selling animal semen and on artificial insemination for animals, and does this fall under the Prophet’s (PBUH) prohibition of taking a fee for the stud’s service?

It is permissible to sell the semen of an animal whose meat is permissible to eat for the purpose of insemination, because it is pure, beneficial, deliverable, and a valuable asset. The jurists explained the prohibition of selling the stud's semen (عسب الفحل) by stating that the seminal fluid is unknown and cannot be delivered. Artificial insemination of animals does not fall under the prohibition of selling the stud's semen. It is a technique used to inseminate female animals using seminal fluids extracted mechanically, and there is no harm in artificial insemination of animals, even for a fee.
