How can a woman endure the absence of her traveling husband, especially with the intensity of her longing for him, while maintaining her religious obligations?

Love and affection between spouses are among Allah's great signs, for He created the wife for man to dwell with her, and He placed between them affection and mercy. However, this love should not be a mad, excessive passion (kalaf), as excess in love has negative effects on both the lover and the beloved.

Kalaf causes the lover anxiety, stress, and preoccupation of thought. It makes him overlook the beloved's shortcomings in duties and prohibitions, competes with the love of Allah and His Messenger, and makes the lover unable to bear the absence or death of his beloved.

As for the beloved, kalaf causes him stress due to the lover's persistence, makes him lose his advisor and guide, and wastes his time.

Freedom is the freedom of the heart, and its servitude is greater than the servitude of the body. Therefore, love must be moderate, not leading to dereliction of duties or negligence in the love of Allah and His Messenger.
