Pigs are impure. If water comes into contact with something from a pig: - If the water is less than two qullatayn, it becomes impure, even if its properties do not change. - If the water is equal to or more than two qullatayn, it does not become impure unless its color, taste, or smell changes.

Impure water can be purified by increasing its quantity, by removal (of the impure water), or by eliminating the change (in its properties). The categories for purifying impure water are: 1. Less than two qullatayn: It is purified by increasing its quantity with two qullatayn of pure water, whether by pouring pure water into it or by a source of pure water flowing into it. 2. Equal to two qullatayn: - If it has not changed, it is purified by increasing its quantity. - If it has changed, it is purified by increasing its quantity until the change is removed, or by leaving it until the change disappears due to a long period of time. 3. More than two qullatayn: - If it is impure without a change (in its properties), it is not purified except by increasing its quantity. - If it has changed, it is purified by increasing its quantity, or by the disappearance of the change due to a long period of time, or by removing from it what causes the change, leaving two qullatayn or more thereafter.

There is no objection to working at a water treatment plant that processes water coming from a pig slaughterhouse to purify it and benefit from it.
