Is it permissible to use wastewater after purifying it?

The Council of Senior Scholars has decided that abundant water altered by impurity becomes pure upon the removal of its alteration. The Council also held that contaminated water purified completely by modern technical methods, returning to its original state (showing no change in taste, color, or odor due to impurity), is considered pure. It is permissible to use such water for removing ritual impurity (hadath), physical impurity (khabath), and for drinking, unless there is a health risk associated with drinking it. Furthermore, the Council deemed it preferable to avoid drinking such water if an alternative is available, as a precaution for health, to avert harm, and out of disdain for what souls find repulsive.
