What are the issues upon which the people of knowledge have reached a consensus in the chapter on water?

Scholars have reached a consensus that all types of water are pure and purifying, except for seawater, concerning which there is a rare dissenting opinion. They have also agreed that what alters water but is typically inseparable from it does not strip it of its purity and purifying quality. They concurred that water altered by impurity (in taste, color, or smell) cannot be used for ablution (wudu) or ritual purification (taharah), and that large, abundant water is not harmed by impurity that has not altered any of its characteristics, and that such water remains pure.
