Does impure water become pure through distillation, and does the principle of عموم البلوى (widespread affliction) affect the ruling on its purification?

Impure water, if treated and its traces of impurity are removed (taste, color, and odor), becomes pure, because the ruling ceases with the removal of its cause. The Council of Senior Scholars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has ruled the purity of water that was impure after its complete purification by modern technical methods, such that it returns to its original created state without change by impurity in taste, color, or odor. It is permissible to use it for purification and drinking, unless there are health harms.
