What is the ruling on a girl remaining with a fiancé who does not pray, and is she sinful for that, especially given her inability to break off the engagement due to her parents' attachment to him? And is one who abandons prayer out of laziness considered a disbeliever whom it is permissible to separate from?

Abandoning prayer is one of the greatest sins. Some scholars have gone as far as to consider one who abandons it an absolute disbeliever, while the majority distinguishes between abandoning it out of denial and abandoning it out of laziness. According to the majority, a wife is not obligated to separate from a husband who abandons prayer out of laziness, but it is recommended for her to do so. It is advisable to continue counseling the husband and urging him to pray. If it becomes certain that he will not maintain it, then the woman has the right to annul the engagement or seek a divorce, and her parents do not have the right to prevent her from doing so.
