What is the ruling on a wife who does not pray despite her fasting, giving charity, and honoring her parents, and her justification is that she is waiting to be able to commit to it at its prescribed times, believing that the sin of delaying prayer is greater than abandoning it?

Abandoning prayer is among the major sins, and many scholars have gone as far as to say that one who abandons it out of negligence is a disbeliever. The husband must seriously command his wife to pray and threaten her with divorce if she does not respond. If she prays, she should repent to Allah. If she insists on abandoning it, he should divorce her. The claim that one who completely abandons prayer is better than one who is negligent in it is false. One who prays some of the time is better than one who completely abandons it, even though both are in grave danger.
