Is the love that ends in marriage forbidden?

Love between a man and a woman who are not mahram is forbidden because it involves seclusion (khalwa), gazing (nazar), and speech that incites desires. Studies have shown that most marriages based on prior love fail, while "traditional marriages" succeed. This is due to reasons such as emotional impulsiveness blinding one to faults, and the lovers' unrealistic perception of life after marriage, as well as their exaggerated and untrue perceptions of each other. The most important reason for the failure of these marriages is that they were built upon disobedience to Allah. For whoever turns away from the remembrance of Allah, theirs will be a life of hardship. And whoever lays the foundation of his building upon piety from Allah, that is better for him.
