What is the ruling on performing ablution (wudu') in a place that was temporarily defiled by impurity, then that impurity was removed with water, especially since this place is not designated for impurity?

If the ablution (wudu') is performed in an impure place, this is contrary to what is preferable. It is among the'mustahabbat' (recommended acts) of ablution that it be performed in a pure place, as mentioned by Al-Hattab in "Mawahib Al-Jalil," and by Ibn Bashir, Qadi Iyad, and others. In Al-Fatawa Al-Hindiyya, it is stated that among the etiquettes of ablution is that it be performed in a pure place, because the water of ablution has sanctity. However, if the place has been purified from impurity, there is no harm in performing ablution there.
