What God has decreed will inevitably come to pass. If a Muslim is certain that everything that happens in this world is by God's decree, their heart will find rest and their soul will be at peace, for all of God's decree is mercy and wisdom. One must have a good opinion of God and entrust all affairs to Him. When a believer understands the reality of this world and comprehends the purpose of their existence in it, they live a good life, and the vicissitudes of the world do not harm them; for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Wondrous is the affair of the believer, for there is nothing but good in all his affairs, and this is not the case for anyone except the believer. If prosperity befalls him, he is grateful, and that is good for him. And if adversity befalls him, he is patient, and that is good for him." Excessive fears and sorrows overcome a weak heart, whereas a strong heart connected to God is in security and tranquility. Strengthening the heart comes from purifying it of doubts and sins, and nourishing it with remembrance [of God], knowledge, and worship.
