How can one respond to the atheist who claims that the universe is an infinite series of successive universes with no beginning, based on the premise that the concept of eternality does not require a beginning or a creator, and how can we argue with them using innate intuition despite their denial of it?

Disbelievers are either deliberately opposing the truth or merely imitators. Sound human nature and intellect reject their statements, for Allah has established proofs of the truth and made human nature ready to grasp realities, especially the intellect, which distinguishes between truth and falsehood. The first response to them is that truths are not established by possibilities, but by proofs and evidence, as Allah Almighty says: "Say, 'Do you have any knowledge [of it] that you could show us? You follow not except assumption, and you are not but liars.'" and "Say, 'Produce your proof, if you should be truthful.'" One can argue with them using sound human nature and states of distress, where all human beings feel their need and poverty, and in times of calamity, a person (even an atheist) turns to their Creator. If an atheist refuses to acknowledge this, there is no recourse but to turn away from them, as Allah Almighty says: "So turn away from whoever turns away from Our remembrance and desires not except the worldly life. That is their extent of knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of who is guided."
