A husband should fondle and caress his wife before intercourse. If the husband falls short in this regard, the wife should explain to him the religious desirability of this act, and that it is part of good companionship. She should also show him the words of scholars regarding the etiquette of marital relations, while being keen on being a good wife to him, especially by adorning herself and beautifying herself, and showing affection through kind words and beautiful actions.
