Is administrative work in a betting office permissible or forbidden?

It is impermissible to work in betting offices—whether in administrative positions or otherwise—because their activity scarcely deviates from prohibited gambling and maysir. This constitutes aiding in sin and aggression, which the Holy Quran forbids in the verse: (And do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty). Ibn Taymiyyah clarified that whoever aids in disobedience to Allah is sinful, and he provided examples, including the Prophet's (peace be upon him) curse upon wine and its presser and one for whom it is pressed, and his prohibition of selling weapons to someone who will use them for unlawful fighting. We advise leaving this work seeking Allah's pleasure, for whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better.
