If money (cash or trade goods) reaches the nisab (the equivalent of 85 grams of gold or 595 grams of silver) and a full year has passed over it, then zakat is obligatory on it, which is one-quarter of one-tenth (2.5%). As for the profits resulting from the blacksmithing trade: if they are trade goods, they are added to the capital and appraised at the end of the year, and one-quarter of one-tenth (2.5%) of their value is paid as zakat. If they are wages, the method of their zakat is explained in Fatwa no. 122462.
