What is the ruling on lying to one's wife, and is it permissible to swear by Allah to affirm the lie?

Islam permits one spouse to lie to the other for the benefit of maintaining affection and family stability, such as lying to show fondness and love. However, lying that leads to the usurpation of rights or evasion of duties is prohibited. If one spouse is compelled to swear an oath regarding matters of fondness and love, they are permitted to swear and use dissimulation (tawriyah), intending their truthfulness in a part of their statement.
