What is the ruling on a divorce from a husband who has been absent for six years, with two children from him, and his refusal to provide legitimate housing, and his claim of accusing the wife of allowing a strange man into her house, knowing that one of the two daughters has no identification?

Falsely accusing one's wife is a grave sin and a clear iniquity, for the honor of a Muslim is sacred. Allah Almighty said: "And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne a slander and a clear sin." And the right to an independent dwelling is hers. If the husband refuses to take his wife back after leaving her with her family, she has the right to demand a divorce or to take her case to court to request a divorce. The husband is obligated to provide maintenance for his wife and daughter for the entire past period, unless the wife was disobedient.
