The question

Is it possible for Allah the Almighty to make us believe in wrong things as right, such as making us believe that the convergence of two opposites is possible or obligatory, and what then would be the extent of trust and certainty in what we rationalize or perceive, especially with the supplication, “Oh Allah, show us the truth as truth and grant us the grace to follow it, and show us falsehood as falsehood and grant us the grace to avoid it”?

The answer

What has been mentioned regarding the generality of Allah's power is specified by scholars as referring to that which is inherently impossible. Allah may, for a wisdom, destine a servant to see falsehood as truth, as in His saying, the Exalted: "Is then he to whom the evil of his conduct is made fair-seeming, so that he deems it good?"

However, Allah has protected the Ummah from agreeing upon error.

And Allah is All-Wise; He does not lead His servants astray. His wisdom is of two types: 1. Wisdom in His creation: He created everything in truth and in the best system. 2. Wisdom in His legislation and command: He legislated divine laws for the worship of Allah, and these are the origin of all good things and the most perfect of pleasures, encompassing all good.

The issue of divine decree (Qadar) is profound; a servant cannot fully comprehend it. We have been forbidden from delving into it, because the most knowledgeable people concerning Qadar are the most restrained from speaking about it, and the most ignorant of it are the most vocal about it.
