What is the ruling on supplicating against a mother who caused her children to be deprived of their father?
If a mother neglects the upbringing of her children, fails to care for them, and causes them to be deprived of their father without a valid religious reason, she has acted wrongly. Nevertheless, it is still obligatory for the children to honor and be good to her, due to the great status of the mother and her enduring the burdens of pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. Your continued efforts not to show your displeasure towards her are an act of obedience for which you will be rewarded. It is not permissible to supplicate against her, as that is a forbidden form of disobedience. Rather, it is obligatory to supplicate for her, as the Quran instructs.
