Is the reason for Allah's choosing of Mary her mother's vow concerning her and seeking refuge for her from Satan, and Allah's accepting her with a goodly acceptance and raising her with a goodly growth? And does Allah give glad tidings to a woman of a boy if she does as the wife of 'Imran did?

No one can attain the status of Mary, peace be upon her, today. Her mother's vow to dedicate her to the service of the House of Allah was permissible in their law, whereas in our law, a father's vow regarding his free child is not valid. Worship in Islam encompasses all aspects of life with a sincere intention and is not limited to rituals or serving the houses of Allah, because that is a form of monasticism rejected in Islam. Whoever raises their children upon virtue and knowledge and serving Muslims attains a great status. Allah's choice of Mary is based on His will and wisdom.
