How can the Almighty's saying be explained: "And Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into [her body] through Our spirit" in light of the verse: "And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof"?

Mary, peace be upon her, came from a pure household. Allah honored her and bestowed upon her Jesus, peace be upon him, by His grace. She was a devout worshipper and an ascetic, and Zachariah, peace be upon him, was her guardian, and he witnessed her miracles. Mary conceived Jesus after Gabriel, peace be upon him, blew into the slit of her garment, and the breath reached her womb by Allah's permission, thus the conception occurred. Mary feared people's talk and sought refuge in a distant place. The Qur'an attests to her perfect chastity and purity, and that she believed in the words of her Lord and His scriptures and was among the devout.
