Is students' stinging each other with rubber bands—in a way that causes harm—considered to be among the prohibited "khadhf"?

"Khadhf" is the act of throwing pebbles, date pits, or similar objects in a specific way using the fingers. Performing this act, if it leads to harm or injury to others, is not permissible Islamically, because Allah has forbidden harming a Muslim and inflicting damage upon them.
