The relationship of love between young men and women is Islamically forbidden because it is a door to evil and corruption. If a man's heart becomes attached to a woman without his seeking it, he must propose to her through her guardian. If he is able to marry her, let him do so; otherwise, he must sever all ties with her and repent to Allah. The claim that this relationship brings one closer to Allah is a satanic whisper.
