What is the ruling on a girl refusing to work with her university degree, which her father forced her to study for, given that she does not need the money and wishes to devote herself to worship and avoid intermingling?

The fundamental principle for a Muslim woman is to remain in her home and not to leave it except for an urgent necessity, as was the practice of the women of the Salaf. The frequent departure of women from their homes is a cause for their corruption and the corruption of their society, as observed in lands of disbelief, where the corruption of morals and values is attributed to women leaving their homes, displaying themselves (تبرجهن), and undertaking men's work. This leads to people being turned away from the straight path due to the illness of lust. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah stated, "Nations, kings, and states became corrupt when women left their homes." Islamic law does not forbid a woman from seeking permissible knowledge, but on the condition that it does not compromise her religion and purity. It is not permissible for her to obey anyone in an act of disobedience to Allah. A woman's remaining in her home and devoting herself to worship is the principle that should be encouraged, and it is her glory and honor, especially if she is not in need of working.
