What is the ruling on intense fear of death and repeatedly dreaming about it?

Fear of death is natural, for Allah instilled in humans a love of life and a fear of the unknown.

The true believer, who has planted the love of Allah in his heart, realizes that he is transitioning to a Generous Lord, and this is what removes the fear.

Allah Almighty said: "Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. Those who believed and were fearing Allah - for them are good tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. No change is there in the words of Allah. That is the great success." (Yunus/62-63)

The believer finds rest in death from the toil of this world to the mercy of Allah, as stated in the Hadith: "The believing servant finds rest from the toil and harm of this world to the mercy of Allah."

Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him. And when the believer is on his deathbed, he is given glad tidings of Allah's pleasure, so he loves to meet Him, unlike the disbeliever.

The natural aversion to death does not mean an unwillingness to meet Allah; rather, it can be a motivation for the believer to increase in acts of obedience and prepare for death.

Believers must prepare for death and frequently remember it, because heedlessness of it can lead to a bad ending.
