Is what happened to me after meeting a girl for marriage—my father's illness, my sister's injury, and the change in my financial circumstances—a bad omen from her? And is the previous girl—who said, "Allah is sufficient for me, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs for me and for your family"—related to what is happening to me? And what should I do with her to repent for what I have committed?
Love relationships between young men and women are a gate to evil and corruption. One must repent from them and adhere to the boundaries of Islamic law when dealing with women who are not . A fiancé is a non-mahram to his fiancée until the legitimate marriage contract is concluded. The calamities that occur are by Allah's decree and are not due to the ill omen of the girl one intends to marry. As for the that attributes ill omen to women ("Ill omen is only in three: the horse, the woman, and the house"), scholars have differed in its interpretation, and the more preponderant view is that it negates ill omen from these three, rather than affirming it. Therefore, it is not advisable to abandon a suitable girl because of such beliefs, while observing the -compliant guidelines in dealing with her.
