What is the ruling on using an air freshener that contains alcohol solely for scenting a room?

If it is confirmed that perfumes contain alcohol, then they are impure (najis), and it is impermissible to use them on clothes, body, or place during prayer, unless the alcohol has undergone complete transformation (istihalah). As for using them in a room where prayer is offered, without them touching the worshiper or their prayer place, it does not affect the validity of the prayer. However, it is necessary to avoid using these perfumes and to not intentionally smell them.
