What is the description of Zuhd (asceticism) in this worldly life, and is depriving oneself of Allah's blessings, despite the availability of wealth, considered Zuhd?

If a person desires to abandon some of their worldly cravings, despite having financial means, in order to save the surplus beyond their essential needs for charity or good deeds, this is commendable and falls under the category of Zuhd (asceticism). A Muslim should not pursue luxuries and the desires of their self while there are poor and needy people around them. Rather, they should give charity to them from what exceeds their basic necessities. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "He has not believed in me who goes to bed satiated while his neighbor is hungry beside him, and he knows it."
