Is it permissible to sell some of the goods the questioner bought when she was working in the factory, which were said to be for her marriage, given that she no longer needs them and is in need of money, and the women of the family were not informed of this?

Selling is permissible according to the Qur’an, the Sunnah (definition), and scholarly consensus. There is no harm for a person in selling what they own. Allah Almighty says: (And Allah has permitted trade and forbidden interest) and He says: (O you who have believed, do not consume one another's wealth unjustly but only [in lawful] trade [resulting] from mutual contentment among you). The basic principle concerning sales is permissibility, provided there is mutual consent between the two parties, who are legally competent in the matter of their transaction, except for what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, has forbidden. Therefore, there is no harm in selling what was bought as part of a trousseau. It might be that the women's intention was that it is better for a woman not to sell what she bought for her trousseau because it might be more beneficial for her if she keeps it.
