A woman riding a bicycle or other means of transport is originally permissible. Women rode camels in the pre-Islamic era and in Islam, as indicated by the : "The best women to ride camels are the women of Quraysh." For her riding to be permissible, she must adhere to Islamic manners, such as wearing the prescribed . It is forbidden for her to ride if it leads to fitna (temptation/strife). It is preferable to observe custom if the act is considered reprehensible.
