What is the ruling on reading Arabic Islamic romantic novels?

Romanticism is a literary doctrine based on the slogan "everything is permitted." It is defined as a collection of concurrent tastes and creative freedoms, allowing the writer freedom of expression without restrictions. The Arabic romantic novel does not differ from its Western counterpart in essence, as it has been heavily influenced by it. It contravenes the principles and boundaries of Islam, because it opens the door to freedom for the writer without religious or moral restrictions. Therefore, romantic novels that incite desires, arouse instincts, and spread immoral behavior must be prohibited and banned. A Muslim should occupy their time with what benefits them and avoid idle talk.
