Is it permissible to delay congregational prayer by an hour from its prescribed time in a non-Muslim country due to the presence of school classes, knowing that only a small number are available to pray at the original time?

It is not permissible to delay the prayer beyond its legally prescribed time, for Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, performing prayer is a duty that has been decreed upon the believers at a specific time," and for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Prayer [should be performed] at its appointed time." One who delays the prayer beyond its legally prescribed time without a valid excuse commits a sin. As for the time set by the congregation, one does not sin by delaying the prayer beyond it, as long as the legal time has not expired or the congregation is not abandoned without excuse. The legal time is broad, and one can pray at any part of it, though it is best to hasten to pray at the beginning of its time. If it is impossible to establish the congregational prayer at the legally prescribed time, then one must pray individually within the time, for praying on time is more obligatory than congregational prayer.
